Men’s Rise is a bible study that encourages men to rise up and grow into all that God called them to be. NHLB invites you to the spring semester of Rise led by long-time ministry friend, Eddie Barrios. Eddie will be leading men through the topic, “Red Letters: When Jesus’ Words Collide With Our Ordinary Lives.”
The goal of this study isn’t simply to gain head knowledge of the very words of Jesus from the book of Matthew, but rather explore the transformative power of Jesus’ words when you apply them to your life as a man, husband, and father.
Beginning February 2nd, this eight-week study will meet on Thursday mornings from 6:30-7:30 at Pelican Athletic Club. So grab a buddy and get your day kickstarted in the transformative Word of God. Meet Eddie Barrios.
Eduardo (Eddie) Barrios was born to first generation Colombian immigrants to the United States. He moved to Louisiana at a young age from California. Eddie fell in love and married his high school sweetheart, Mary, after college. They have 5 children (one deceased), one grandson and 2 sons-in-law. Though Eddie came to Christ as a teenager, he feels his relationship with Jesus has had many reboots. Within the last 6 years, Eddie has come out of a whirlwind storm of falling in love with Jesus and trying to practice the simple truths found in Micah 6:8:
“And what does the Lord require of you but to do justice, and to love kindness, and to walk humbly with your God.” Eddie’s passion is family, discussing the Christian life, and helping others in their marriage relationships. Professionally, Eddie has worked in the Information Technology field for over 35 years. He lives in Mandeville and attends St. Timothy’s on the Northshore church.
